Heather and I threw our first party in honor of Bastille Day, and much to our surprise, it was a success! Despite being a Monday, and all the way on the Hill, at least twenty people showed up! We drew moustaches on faces (with Heather's expensive eyeliner.. oops!), served brie, French 75s (then switched to High Life, the champagne of beers!), listened to French pop, played bocce, and said "Merci" instead of "Thank You." No French kissing or spin le bottle, which I'm thankful for. The night ended at a reasonable hour with night swimming at the East End Beach. Perhaps next year we'll get someone to smuggle in some illegal fireworks.
